Croydon (UK)

One of the largest commercial districts outside Central London, with an extensive shopping district and night-time economy.

Croydon has a youthful and diverse population of almost 400,000 and it is a thriving commercial district outside Central London. The town delivers excellent travel connections to London and the South East, including Gatwick Express rail just 15 minute to Gatwick airport and 60 minutes to Brighton, and offers plenty of activities to take part in and attractions to see. Visitors can shop at the numerous retail outlets and new shopping centres, stroll down London’s oldest street market or enjoy a country walk through the beautiful Coombe Wood.

Marseille (France)

The second largest and oldest city in France, vibrant and bustling all year round with Vieux Port (the Old Port) at its heart.

Marseille has a population of 855,000 and is located on the south coast in the Provence-Alpes-Cote-d’Azur. The port city is famous for its historic migration links to Africa, contributory to its array of different cultures with superb travel connections to Paris, as well as Provence, the French Riviera, Monaco and even Corsica (by ferry) – the nearest airport is Aéroport de Marseille Provence just 27 km to the northwest. Visitors are spoilt for choice by way of attractions in Marseille, including the bustling La Canebière, the most atmospheric slice of Le Panier and the famous prison island of If.

Bordeaux (France)

Port city on the Garonne River in southwestern France, capital and hub of the famed wine-growing Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.

Bordeaux boasts a population of 255,000 and is France’s biggest wine appellation. Located on the Atlantic coast, the city exercises significant influence on the global wine industry and hosts the world’s main wine fair, Vinexpo. The historic part of the city is on the UNESCO World Heritage List as an outstanding urban and architectural ensemble of the 18th century. It’s known for its Gothic Cathédrale Saint-André and notable art museums such as the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux. After Paris, Bordeaux has the highest number of preserved historical buildings of any city in France.
